About Scholarship

A Woman's Approach to STEM is a scholarship fund to support and encourage females in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and to make higher education more accessible. We believe that it is so important to focus on the equality of opportunity and access to higher education, and through this scholarship, we can help mitigate the evident barriers that stand in the way of women in the STEM field. This scholarship is for a woman entering her first year of university in fall 2021 or is currently enrolled in a STEM program at a recognized university.

About Company

A Woman's approach to STEM was co-founded by Trinity Tooley-Macarandang and Lauren Saurette. This initiative was started as a result of the apparent underrepresentation of women in STEM. Trinity is a current student at Dalhousie University with a strong interest in research and virology and is very passionate about science communication and outreach. Trinity wants to increase the representation of women in STEM and help foster a more inclusive scientific community. Lauren is a student at Ryerson University, with a drive to make the world more accessible and inclusive. Lauren strongly values education and wants to increase opportunities for all.  Together, they aim to join their perspectives to address the gender and accessibility issues within academia, one scholarship at a time.
