The Youth Education awards are only open to survivors of a pediatric brain tumour (all tumour types considered, from malignant to non-malignant) diagnosed before the age of 25 who live in Canada.
Brain tumours are unpredictable and complex, and can affect vision, hearing, memory, balance and mobility. Their effects--physical, emotional, financial--last a lifetime. Funds raised by Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada help support leading-edge research into the cause of and cure for this devastating disease, while also helping to fund vital programs and services for the brain tumour community. Survivors of a pediatric brain tumour who are pursuing post-secondary education are invited to apply for the Youth Education Award program. The aim of the program is to help young brain tumour survivors achieve their dreams through post-secondary education. These are one-time awards of up to $5,000.00 for tuition and associated ancillary costs.
By providing support, education, information and research funding, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada has been making a difference in the lives of the over 55,000 Canadians currently living with a brain tumour and thousands more before them.
