About Scholarship

I created the Destined for Greatness Scholarship for Black students because I believe that every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, is born with purpose, potential, and the ability to create meaningful impact. As a Black woman myself, I understand firsthand the unique challenges that Black individuals often face, including systemic barriers, limited access to opportunities, and the pressure of navigating spaces that were not designed with us in mind. This scholarship was created to support, uplift, and empower Black students who are determined to rise above those challenges and pursue their goals with confidence and intention.

At its core, the Destined for Greatness Scholarship is rooted in the belief that greatness is not accidental. It is developed through resilience, discipline, self-belief, and a commitment to personal growth. My faith has shaped how I understand purpose and calling, and while this scholarship is not faith-based, it reflects the belief that each person is intentionally equipped with unique strengths and talents meant to be developed and shared with the world.

Black men and Black women have always been leaders, innovators, and change-makers, even in environments where their contributions have been overlooked or undervalued. This scholarship exists to affirm their worth, invest in their potential, and provide support as they work toward their educational and personal aspirations. My hope is that this initiative helps recipients take a meaningful step forward, whether in academics, leadership, entrepreneurship, or service to their communities.

The Destined for Greatness Scholarship is open to Black men and Black women, regardless of religious beliefs, spiritual background, or personal worldview. This scholarship is grounded in inclusivity and equity, and applicants from all faiths and walks of life are welcome and encouraged to apply.

All applicants must submit a short essay between 750 and 1000 words reflecting on what the phrase “Destined for Greatness” means to them personally. This essay is an opportunity to share your story your experiences, challenges, aspirations, and the journey that has shaped who you are today. Applicants are encouraged to discuss what motivates them, the obstacles they have overcome, and how they plan to use their education, talents, and voice to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

Through this essay, I hope to hear from individuals who are driven by purpose, committed to excellence, and ready to step boldly into the greatness they know they are capable of achieving.
