The Gregg Stewart Future Catalyst Scholarship is designed for Indigenous students who are passionate about learning, growth, and making an impact in their communities and the world. We are looking for individuals who embody curiosity, resilience, and a drive to contribute to the future of clean energy, technology, or business.

An ideal candidate will:

✅ Be Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and a resident of Ontario
✅ Be accepted into a full-time post-secondary program (college or university)
✅ Show an interest in innovation, nuclear energy, sustainability, or STEM/business fields
✅ Exhibit leadership qualities, a desire to learn, and a willingness to collaborate
✅ Submit a 250-word statement on their interest in nuclear, sustainability, or their career aspirations

We value students who bring unique perspectives, problem-solving skills, and a drive to make a difference—whether that’s through engineering, project management, technology, business, or other fields that support the energy sector.

Gregg Stewart Future Catalyst Scholarship

Empowering Indigenous Students in Nuclear Innovation

At NPX, we believe in the power of innovation, community, and leadership. In memory of Gregg Stewart, a visionary leader and co-founder of NPX who dedicated his career to advancing nuclear energy and supporting those around him, we are proud to establish the Gregg Stewart Future Catalyst Scholarship.

This scholarship is designed to support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education who have a passion for making an impact in science, technology, engineering, or business. We are committed to fostering Indigenous representation in the nuclear industry and providing meaningful opportunities for learning and career development.

Scholarship Details

  • Award Amount: $8,000 toward tuition and education-related expenses
  • Work Opportunity: A paid co-op/internship position at NPX to gain hands-on experience in the nuclear sector
  • Mentorship: Support from NPX professionals to help guide academic and career growth

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must:
✔ Be a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit student in Canada
✔ Be a resident of Ontario
✔ Have received an acceptance letter for a full-time post-secondary program (college or university)
✔Submit a 500-word statement of interest on nuclear energy, sustainability, or how they see themselves contributing to the industry

Gregg was known not only for his technical expertise but also for his extraordinary generosity and leadership. He believed that the best way to create meaningful change was by empowering people—mentoring young professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and always going above and beyond to make others feel supported. His dedication to lifting others up became the inspiration for one of NPX’s core values: “Be like Gregg”—a reminder to lead with kindness, integrity, and a willingness to help those around us succeed.

Above all, Gregg was a loving husband to Lindsay and a devoted dad to Marie and Hazel. His deep love for his family was evident in everything he did and continues to inspire those who knew him.
