Great Plains College is at the leading edge of Saskatchewan’s regional college system. The college is focused on meeting the needs of learners, employers and communities in western Saskatchewan. We are working to build stronger leaders, careers, partnerships and communities.
Our decentralized campuses are located in Kindersley, Swift Current and Warman with additional programming at locations in Biggar, Maple Creek and Martensville. Throughout our locations in south-western and west-central Saskatchewan, we offer a number of post-secondary certificate, diploma and degree programs as well as university courses, safety training, adult basic education and English language training.
The college strives to provide for the distinct needs of our service area by challenging everyone to continually build a responsive, innovative and results-orientated institution. Great Plains College was the first regional college in Saskatchewan to introduce a health and dental plan for its students and also proudly boasts one of the strongest scholarship programs in all of Canada.
Led by knowledgeable and experienced instructors, our smaller class sizes make for a more personal, supportive and productive learning environment. In most programs offered at Great Plains College, you gain real-world experience through practicums before you graduate.
The college has also achieved full Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) grant eligibility status. We recognize the vital importance of research, the new knowledge and applications that it creates, the knowledgeable and skilled human resources development through the process of conducting research, as well as the importance of peer review, which ensures that funded research meets the highest standards of excellence.
