About Scholarship

The Institute’s scholarship award was created in 2014 and is intended to recognize the outstanding achievement and potential of students attending Canada’s post-secondary marine training institutions.

All applications will be considered. The Institute’s National Council will consider applications during its spring (April-May) meeting and announce the award at that year’s Mari-Tech Conference and Exhibition.

One award will ordinarily be made annually.  Previous recipients of the scholarship may apply in successive years, provided they are continuing in a full-time program toward a marine engineering academic diploma and an operating license or certificate.

About Company

The Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering (CIMarE) was incorporated by federal charter in 1976 to advance and promote the science and practice of marine engineering, naval engineering, naval architecture, ocean engineering, marine electrics/electronics, control engineering and other associated professions.

Communications:

Membership in the CIMarE allows marine engineers, and others involved in Canada's marine industry, to meet, correspond and exchange information and ideas. Our seven local Branches offer technical meetings as well as various social events.

We also promote communications through our publications and our website; both of which are undergoing upgrades to better serve our members.
