About Scholarship

Be advised, KSA receives numerous applications. Up to eight (8) recipients will be chosen by a KSA review committee from applications submitted, for a one-time $1,500 scholarship award. Those recipients chosen by KSA to receive a scholarship award will be notified by telephone and their names posted on the KSA website before the awards dinner. The recipient and two of his/her guests will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Dinner at the Edelweiss Tavern, with dinner cost covered by KSA. Each of the recipients will receive a lump sum cheque for $1,500 in their name, from KSA, in September following satisfactory proof of enrollment at a recognized post-secondary institution in the immediate autumn term. 

KSA Review Committee 

A scholarship recipient would be an individual who: is a well-rounded student athlete, meaning a person who plays local organized sport(s), has contributed to the betterment of their team (or sport) through character and leadership, has good school marks, has contributed to the local school or broader community through volunteering, has taken steps to finance the future cost of college or university, but is in need of financial assistance to further their education.

About Company

In 1944, a group of sports and community-minded individuals formed the Kitchener Sports Association in response to the need for an all-event,  year-round sports and entertainment facility.

         Working closely with the City of Kitchener, KSA’s dream was realized with the opening of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium  in the spring of 1950.  In 1989, KSA provided funding for the construction of the Teaching Theatre at the Aud and has been directly involved with the on-going renovation and improvement of the Aud. complex including the track paving at Centennial Stadium in 1996 and the Kraut Memorial in 2003.

          KSA has provided funding for community betterment projects such as the lights & renovation of Country Hills Lions Ball Park in 1993 and spear headed the creation of The Waterloo County Hall of Fame in 1972. (KSA remains an active sponsor of The Waterloo County Hall of Fame.)
